Kittens are adorable bundles of entertainment who can mature into amazing and loving companions. As a kitten owner, there are many things you can do to help shape your kitten’s development and personality. Some things might take a little work and patience, but the process also comes with lots of rewarding experiences!At Lawndale, we absolutely love kitten visits! Of course getting to play with kittens and love on them is pure enjoyment, but even more than that, we love helping owners understand the important information about raising a kitten. We want to work together as a team to give you confidence and knowledge about raising a healthy, happy, and safe kitten!
Your kitten should visit the clinic every 3 to 4 weeks until he or she is between 16 and 18 weeks of age. These visits are important on many levels. We will perform full physical exams each time to be sure your kitten is healthy and growing normally. You will have the opportunity to bring up any questions or concerns, including kitten behavior and training questions. We will review topics such as nutrition, development, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Your kitten will receive necessary vaccines, intestinal parasite testing, and we will dispense preventive medications (to protect against heartworms, intestinal parasites, fleas, and ticks).
