Puppy Vaccine Schedule:
Vaccine | Recipient | Frequency |
Rabies *REQUIRED BY LAW* | All puppies. | 1st vaccine given between 12-16 weeks of age. The next booster is 1 year later, and then every 3 years. |
Distemper / Adenovirus / Parainfluenza / Parvovirus (Combo) | All puppies. | Puppies receive this vaccine every 2-4 weeks until 16-18 weeks of age. The next vaccine is given 1 year later, and then every 2 years depending on age, vaccine history, and lifestyle. |
Bordetella (Kennel cough) | All puppies. Future doses depend on the level of contact with other dogs (boarding, grooming, parks, stores, day care, etc.) | Every 6 months. |
Leptospirosis | Puppies exposed to wildlife/water (hiking, camping, swimming, living near areas where wildlife frequent). | Initial (2 vaccines 2-3 weeks apart), then annual. |
Lyme | Puppies at risk of exposure to ticks. | Initial (2 vaccines 2-3 weeks apart), then annual. |
