Puppies are adorable, funny, playful, and loveable. They can also grow up to be amazing, obedient, and loving companions. As a puppy owner, you have the privilege and ability to help shape your puppy’s development. It takes work and patience, but the process also comes with lots of rewarding experiences!

At Lawndale, we absolutely love puppy visits! Of course puppy snuggles are heartwarming, but even more than that, we love helping owners understand the vast amount of information about raising a puppy. At times, new puppy owners can feel overwhelmed. We want to work together as a team to give you confidence and knowledge about raising a healthy, happy, and safe puppy!

Your puppy should visit the clinic every 3 to 4 weeks until around 16 to 18 weeks of age. These visits are important on many levels. We will perform full physical exams each time to be sure your puppy is healthy and growing normally. You will have the opportunity to bring up any questions or concerns, including puppy behavior and training questions. We will review topics such as nutrition, development, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Your puppy will receive necessary vaccines, intestinal parasite testing, and we will dispense preventive medications (to protect against heartworms, intestinal parasites, fleas, and ticks).

The links below contain a wealth of information as well as resources to help you in this journey as a new puppy owner. Should you need additional information, we are always here to help. We are so excited to partner with you and your new puppy!
